About

Compassionate counselling for individuals and couples, here to support you wherever you are on your path.

Hi, my name is Alicia

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.

About Me

I’m a registered clinical counsellor based in Abbotsford, BC. I work with individuals, couples, and families in person, as well as online across British Columbia.

My focus is relational trauma and the patterns that difficult relationships can leave behind. Much of my work looks at what happens underneath relationship distress, including cycles of pursuing and withdrawing, people pleasing, shutting down, resentment, anxiety and disconnection. These patterns can show up in our relationships with others, but also in how we understand and respond to ourselves.

I believe lasting change comes from making sense of these patterns, understanding what is driving them, and creating new ways of responding that feel more secure, connected and true to who you are.

How I Work

I bring together clinical skills and genuine warmth, so our sessions feel less like a formal appointment and more like talking with someone who truly listens. My approach is attachment-focused and trauma-informed, which simply means I pay close attention to how your past relationships and experiences shape the way you feel and connect today.

I tend to look beyond what is happening on the surface. Together, we can slow things down, make sense of recurring patterns and understand what may be happening underneath them. From there, we can work toward meaningful change rather than simply finding better ways to manage the same problems.

Relationship work has become an important part of my practice because I’m drawn to understanding what happens beneath relationship distress. Relationships can shift over time, and people can become caught in patterns that leave them feeling misunderstood, disconnected, resentful or alone. Understanding what happens beneath those patterns has shaped much of my training and the way I work with individuals, couples, and families.
